Friction reduction technology

In order to meet the demanding Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards and the evolving lower temperature combustion after treatments, there is a growing market for better, more compliant lubrication additives.  In partnership with MCC, MC-CAM is investigating the boundary layer lubrication dynamics associated with combustion engines to design a new class of additives with targeted structure-function properties that reduces parasitic friction loss.
