Solar energy represents one of the few scalable alternatives to fossil fuels energy. Solution-processable organic semiconductors are a materials system that can enable roll-to-roll processing of a light weight and highly flexible photovoltaic modules. Currently, OPVs show impressive performance, but still below necessary requirements for widespread application. By working closely with MCC, MC-CAM is tackling this challenge through development of novel materials that will enable new concepts in photovoltaics as well as improve existing system.
